About Beyondie Arts

Keeping culture alive through art and storytelling.

Beyondie Arts is being built to share positive stories about Aboriginal culture, create opportunities for artists, and give small communities meaningful access to cultural experiences.

Our purpose

The organisation’s purpose is to advance Aboriginal culture through visual art, storytelling, education and public exhibitions. Its work is grounded in public benefit: creating spaces where people can encounter art, hear stories of Country and family, and build understanding through direct cultural engagement.

Founder and lead artist

Dr Reece George is the founder and lead artist of Beyondie Arts. His paintings and stories provide the organisation’s first body of cultural and creative work, while the charity structure creates a transparent platform for exhibitions, education programs and future artist opportunities.

Why Beyondie

The name Beyondie comes from a place of family, memory and belonging. Reece was raised on Beyondie Station in Western Australia, where he grew up surrounded by the stories, humour, resilience and quiet strength of family and Country.

On the verandah, under vast desert skies, he listened as his grandmother, Yibby George, and other elders shared stories that carried memory, identity and connection. Those moments remain at the heart of his work today, shaping paintings and programs that invite people into a deeper understanding of Aboriginal culture.

Beyondie Arts carries that spirit forward. The organisation begins with Reece’s lived experience and grows through public exhibitions, talks, workshops and partnerships, creating welcoming spaces where stories of Country, family and culture can be shared with wider communities.
